Homestay Referral Program

Homestay Referral Program

Earn a $200 referral reward for bringing your friends and family into the SISP Homestay Community!

What is the SISP Homestay Referral Program?

SISP Host Families are the program's greatest asset and are instrumental in ensuring the success of students in the program. Currently active host families have proven to be a valuable source of information, positive experience and enthusiasm with regards to hosting an international student. Many of the families currently hosting for our program found out about SISP through the stories of friends, relatives, neighbours or colleagues who host or have hosted a SISP student.

SISP appreciates the efforts by the host family community to recruit new enthusiastic and dedicated families to open up their hearts and homes to international students coming to Saanich. In return, SISP wants to give back to those in the host family community who help spread the word and support the program with finding caring, loving homes for SISP students. This is why the Host Family Referral Program was established.

How Does It Work?

The process of referring a new host family and qualifying for the $200 referral reward is as follows:

  • Only currently active SISP Host Families are able to refer another host family
  • The current host family completes the Homestay Referral Form via the link below
  • The referred family completes the online Host Family Application and should indicate on the application they were referred to SISP by the referring host family
  • The referred family completes the SISP screening, including:
    • A home visit with one of the Homestay Coordinators
    • Signing of the Host Family Agreement and providing other required documents
    • Completing a Criminal Record Check for all household members aged 18 or older
  • The referred family is formally approved as a SISP Host Family
  • The referred family accepts a student and the student arrives in the home

The $200 reward will be deposited as soon as the student has arrived in the home of the new host family
